Caution on up coming update High Sierra MacOS 10.13.4

A word of caution to all regarding this update which is in beta form at this time.  This beta update of 10.13.4 was installed on a non-production machine and it as advertised it will notify you of applications that need to be upgraded to 64bit and it can render 32 bit apps like Quicken 2007 for Lion inoperable!  So be careful!  To stop automatic updating in System Preferences go to the App Store and uncheck the Automatic Update box and leave the security update box checked for your protection from malware.

February 10th meeting….

At our February 10th meeting we will be reviewing iPhone and iPad performance, use of the Geekbench 4 app on both the iPhone and iPad, and an analysis of test results.  Various Mac OS and iOS oddities will also be reviewed.

January 13 Meeting Results

We had nominal attendance at the January 13th meeting with Lloyd King and myself in attendance.  We discussed Lloyd’s recent episode of slowness with his iMac and reloading the OS at the Apple Store in University Village and transfer of data from his backup.  Use of a “COO” (from Amazon) bluetooth keyboard for iPad’s was reviewed and features demonstrated.  After two weeks of use the bluetooth keyboard works as stated and is quite sturdy.
